Un-Official B96 Web Site
...thanks for the memories,
Oct. 1997 - Feb. 2000...

Dear B96ers,
Well, the time has come when good things must come to an end. The Un-Official B96 Web Site is now closing its doors for good.  Of course your #1 question is Why? Well now that the official website for the station is in place, this one must come down due to legal reasons. I'm sure most of you have wondered why the site hasn't been updated since June, well, this is because I knew this was going to happen eventually. I have enjoyed bringing B96 to the web for as long as I have.  Back in 1997 is when this all started and so we've had a good run.  I have been contacted by B96 and hopefully in the future I may be able to work with the Official B96 website.  It's amazing how many people have been visiting this site since the official one went up.  We even had one day back on January 18th that we had over 300 people visit it in that one day and we had over 8000 just last month alone.  I can't even tell you how much thanks I want to give to all of you who have come here and kept coming back.  I've put so much of my own personal time and effort into the building and maintaining of this site that it's sad that this has to be taken down.  Thank you all again for your wonderful support!

I will probably make a B96 Memories page, so if you'd like to be a part of it and say good bye, click here!

I have begun work on a new site called InterDance World.  To show my love and devotion to dance music, this site has been created in that spirit.  Though it's just getting started I hope to expand on it and even have more stuff on this one than this B96 one.  I am hoping to add new dance songs to it all the time where you can listen to them them on the web and also a mix section to include mixes from around the world.  I also hope to expand in my own mixing talent which I have recently begun.  I also hope in the future to begin a Internet Station playing dance music 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Click below to check it out!

Another site I have started a long time ago, but haven't done any recent work on it is my Chicagoland Night Clubs site.  I hope someday to return to working on that one and letting people in the Chicagoland area know where the hot clubs are to be.  The website for that is here...

If you have all wondered who the man is behind the B96 Site, my name is Jim Conant Jr.  I'm a 20 year old student currently attending the College of DuPage.  I live in the Chicagoland Suburbs.  B96 has been a station that has been a favorite of mine since the early 90's and even beyond.  In 1997, I came up with the idea that B96 should have their own website, since they didn't have one already.  It started out in October as a one page site, looking like someone's homepage that liked a radio station.  Eventually I added some info on the station, put up some Bobby D mixes on the web and then the site began to take off.  With a little time and learning of the web I began to add pages, always trying to think of new things to add to get more people to check out the site.  I've added and cut out stuff through the years and have completely re-done the website probably 3 times.  It's grown to over 30 pages and instead of a one page B96 Fan page that it started out to be, it has become a full web site.  Probably having only a few people checking it out, it grew up to an average of 50 people checking out the site every day, until the day B96 announced their own official website, and now the site has averaged more than 100 recently.  It's very hard to get people to come to a website again and again, and I hope that my other 2 new websites will get some attention, but I don't expect the same results as this one.  This has been one of my greatest accomplishments and it has always been a great feeling when people thought my site was the official one and found out it wasn't.  I could look back now at the old pages of the B96 site and think about all the memories from those times.  This will be something to always remember and probably never be repeated again.  I wish I could personally thank each and every one of you that have checked out the site.  You are what made me continue to work on the site.  Who knows what my future holds, but I would like to get more in the field of web design.  I would also love to open my own dance club and start my own radio station in Chicago...but that is another dream...
Thank you all once again for all your support throughout the years.

Sincerely,
   Jim Conant Jr.
